“Ask HN: Is there a good open-source alternative to Adobe Acrobat? Ideally, it would not only be just a pdf reader but also have functionality to remove pages, add pages, sign, and edit forms.”

The images in the PPT files are all PNG images with the exception of a couple of animated GIFs, which work as expected. All images have alt-text. The file I'm currently workin”

No error messages are printed. The result is the same on repeated attempts. Other files open just fine. In fact, if I rename the troublesome file, then Evince opens it just fine (repeatedly, without having to rename it a second time). What might have caused my Evince to no longer open a file in its original location? W”
